Our Lord loves children, and so do we! There’s lots of energy of all ages in our classrooms. Let us come alongside you as you seek to raise your children in the ways of Christ. We’ll need your wisdom to raise our kids well, too. 

SoDu Kids

The Children’s Ministry at South Durham Church is major ministry of our church in Durham. Children are a blessing and we consider it a priority to come alongside the parents in our ministry to disciple and train their children. Children have always played a major role in the life of our church, in fact each of the initial moves of our church were due to outgrowing the children’s space.

Children During Worship Service

During our worship service, children from 4yr old through fifth grade are invited to participate in the service with their parents.

Children ages birth -3yr are invited to SoDu Kids to spend time playing with other children while being supervised by qualified volunteers.

Children After the Worship Service

SoDu Kids ages 3yr to 10yr meet immediately after service for a lesson related to the sermon passage. This time is an excellent opportunity for the children to grow in their faith while applying the Bible. Our volunteers teach age-appropriate Bible lessons, sing songs, and play with the children and students.

Safety in Children’s Ministry

The safety of all children in our care is important to us. All volunteers in our Durham Children’s Ministry are screened and trained prior to serving our children.
